The original Monarch 4 Standard (M4S) was designed from the ground up to provide the same legendary Fodera quality of Fodera's custom instruments at a very competitive price point. Every M4S has been built right here in Fodera's Brooklyn shop alongside our custom instruments by the very same people, using the same tools.

Every so often Fodera has been releasing small, “Special” runs of various Standard models that offer something unique. Perhaps a different combination of tonewoods, different electronics or different tops? Who knows where creativity will lead them? One thing is for certain...they will be limited in number and will sound and play every bit as well as every Fodera should!

For this run of the Monarch Standard Special, Fodera opted to use a tonewood mixture that includes medium weight Alder bodies, 3 piece Rock Maple Necks, and Pau Ferro fingerboards—all perfectly complimented by gorgeous Flame Walnut tops.

Rounding out the package is the Fodera / Pope 3-band Standard Preamp and Seymour Dual Coil pickups. This version of the M4SS delivers deep, tight lows, transparent mids and a wonderful rich top-end making for great slap tones and precise, percussive, articulate finger-style runs.
